SNR Denton Expands with Three New Partners and a Managing
Director in New York
NEW YORK, June 21, 2011
SNR Denton announced today that Brian S. Cousin, Neil A.
Capobianco and Jonathan Evan Goldberg have joined the firm’s New
York office as partners, and José M. Jara as managing director, in
its Litigation and Arbitration practice. The group joins from
Seyfarth Shaw LLP.

Cousin has over 23 years of experience as a litigator and
employment counselor. His practice focuses on employment litigation
and counseling, ERISA and employee benefits litigation, complex
commercial and business-related litigation, non-compete and other
restrictive covenant litigation, executive contract issues and
developing global solutions for the needs of his clients. Cousin
represents a wide range of corporate clients, including companies
in the manufacturing, wine and spirits, health care,
pharmaceuticals, hospitality, technology, consulting, legal
services, financial services, sports and entertainment, media and
communications and insurance sectors. At his previous firm, he was
co-chair of the ERISA Litigation National practice group and a
member of the Labor and Employment Steering Committee. At SNR
Denton, Cousin will help lead the firm’s Global Employment team and
the firm’s ERISA & Benefits Litigation group.
Cousin received his J.D. from the Rutgers University School of
Law - Newark, where he was an Editor of the Rutgers Law
Review. He received his B.A. from Columbia College.
Capobianco, with more than two decades of employment litigation
experience, focuses on ERISA and wage-and-hour class action
litigation and has represented and advised management in all
aspects of labor, employment and employee benefits law matters. He
represents numerous clients in complex commercial, ERISA and
employment litigation. Capobianco has successfully defended
employment discrimination, wrongful discharge and retaliation
claims, enforced and defended restrictive covenants and negotiated
executive contracts and separation agreements.
Capobianco received his J.D., magna cum laude, from New
York Law School where he was an Editor of the New York Law
School Law Review and received a B.A. from the University of
Wisconsin - Madison.
Goldberg is an experienced litigator, representing numerous
clients in complex commercial litigation, ERISA litigation and
employment litigation. Goldberg routinely represents corporations
and individuals in trade secrets and restrictive covenant
litigation, advancement and indemnification proceedings, civil RICO
litigation, defamation litigation and antitrust litigation and
arbitration, and has successfully defended employers in federal and
state courts against claims of discrimination, retaliation,
wrongful termination, breach of fiduciary duty, fraud and breach of
contract.
Goldberg received his J.D., summa cum laude, from
American University Washington College of Law where he was the
Senior Articles Editor of The American University Law
Review and received a B.A. with honors from Swarthmore
College.
Jara has extensive experience providing guidance on all aspects
of ERISA, including plan drafting and design, fiduciary liability
insurance, plan assets, prohibited transactions and exemptions, US
Department of Labor breach of fiduciary duty investigations and
lawsuits and ERISA class action litigation.
Jara received his LL.M. and Certificate in Employee Benefits Law
from the Georgetown University Law Center, J.D. from the Benjamin
N. Cardozo School of Law where he was a member of the Cardozo
Journal of Law and Gender and received a B.S. from Manhattan
College.
